What the install includes
One crew from the measure to the final safety test.
- A measure that happens before you order
- We check the opening, the headroom, the backroom and the framing. Getting this wrong is what produces a door that needs shimming for the rest of its life.
- Doors chosen for the house and the climate
- Insulated sections if the garage is attached, heated or used as a shop. Insulation also makes a wide double door quieter and considerably stiffer.
- Hardware sized to the door
- Springs matched to the finished weight, and a decision about standard or high-cycle based on how often the door will actually run.
- Opener integration
- We reuse a healthy opener or fit a new one, then set travel and force limits to the new door rather than leaving the old settings.
- Removal and disposal
- The old door and hardware go with us. The opening is left clean.
Repair or replace
Both answers are legitimate. Here is how we decide, and you get the same reasoning we would use on our own house.
Replacement usually wins when
- Sections are cracked, rusted through or delaminating
- The door has been repaired repeatedly in the last two years
- A panel is no longer manufactured or the colour no longer matches
- The door is uninsulated and the garage is attached or heated
- You are selling, and the door is the first thing anyone sees

- Lead time is quoted when you order, not guessed at
- The install is usually same-day once the door arrives
- We run the finished door with you watching before we leave
Installation questions
How long does a new door installation take?
A standard single or double residential door is typically a same-day install once the door arrives. The lead time before that depends on the manufacturer and whether the door is stock or custom, and you get that timeline when you order.
What brands do you carry?
Clopay, Amarr, Garaga and Hörmann for residential. Carrying the common brands is also why most repairs finish on the first visit instead of waiting on a special order.
Is an insulated door worth it in Idaho?
If the garage is attached, heated, or you use it as a shop, yes. Insulation also makes the door quieter and stiffer, which matters more than most people expect on a wide double door.
Do I need a new opener with a new door?
Not always. A healthy opener can usually carry a new door, though the travel and force limits have to be reset for the new weight. If the door is heavier or better insulated we will tell you whether the opener is up to it.
Do you haul the old door away?
Yes, removal and disposal are part of the install.
